The main objective of the translation used by Ferreira de Almeida was to create a formal equivalent that would follow the syntax of the original text, but in Portuguese, he used the so-called “Textus Receptus” as the textual basis. His translation style is described as “classical is erudite”; the Brazilian biblical society says that Ferreira de Almeida sought to reflect in his translation the style is the form of the original text.
